When I was pregnant, telling people the baby's due date I often met with this response: 'Oh. A Virgo. You poor thing.' What did they mean? I have Virgo friends, my Mum is one and so is my mother-in-law. And they are all fine. What would be wrong with my baby? So I looked up the characteristics of a Virgo.
I soon found out that Virgos are generally organised. VERY organised. Neat and tidy to the point of annoyance. But I still didn't understand one thing: why would that annoy me? I myself am a very organised, neat person. I would struggle with a messy child, but a tidy one? That's cause for celebration (but don't say the word 'celebrate' to a pregnant woman; it just reminds her of her inability to drink champagne).
And the verdict on Abbey so far? At sixteen months of age, she is beginning to show signs of tidiness. But not in the traditional sense. No, far from it. As I look around, I see a lounge room scattered with toys, items from the kitchen cupboards and clothes from her drawers. Her current understanding of her Virgo-ness is to take things from one place and rearrange them. Which, as a fellow organised neat-freak, annoys the hell out of me!
This apparent instinct to organise also distracts her from doing other things. The other day, I gave her some crayons and butchers paper to practice drawing. She drew one squiggle and then spent the next two hours putting the crayons back in the box, looking at her handywork, then rearranging them, taking them out again, putting a couple in other spots (later, I found some in the freezer!), until she was finally satisfied with their placement.
So, with the combination of star-sign insights and her character so far, I think I can read my future: I see a lot of mind games between Abbey and myself. I see a LOT of arranging, rearranging and re-rearranging, trying to out-organise each other. I also sense a feeling of frustration from Steve.
But it'll be fun. My little girl is perfect just as she is. Sorry, that was just a tinge of protectiveness and loyalty from a stereotypical Cancerian...

Well, as as a Virgo myself, (18 Sep), I can tell you that we just like to put things where *we* want to. We want to make ALL the decisions about furniture and where things go and what the colour scheme will be. We have minor OCD issues as well (eg biographies should be all together on bookshelf, with fiction on another shelf, largest book to the outer and small books meeting in the middle).
But yes - we can also be very messy if it's something that doesn't interest us (eg cleaning) and will therefore turn our attention to something else that we like to do, and want to do in an orderly fashion (eg blogging).
We're also quite critical of others (just wait until she starts saying, "Mummy - you can't put the peas next to the potato, you have to put them on the *other* side next to the meat and carrots.") But also of ourselves.
But we are also very caring (if not sometimes self-centered), loyal and giving.
Lucky you!
My husband and daughter are Virgos and they are delightful people.
In saying that my daughter (now 3) does a lot of what your daughter also does. She moves stuff here. Moves stuff there. Puts stuff in bags, unloads them into different places.
I am Taurean and apparently me and hubby are the perfect star sign match (or so I read somewhere!)
txxx
I never held much value in star signs until my kids came along. My son is an Aries, like Hubby, and both show a lot of aries traits, as does a friends child who was born 3 days before my son. The both have a fire like temper, over think, but are generous and empathetic. My Daughter is Pisces... emotional, over sensitive... stubborn streak 10 miles wide... I am scorpio, passionate, stubborn, organised... yep, its an emotional, fiery, yet ordered house!

I never paid much attention to star signs, much as u say.. How could being born on a particular day dictate my personality traits... But as a fellow cancerian, I had a read of some stuff recently (after scoffing at my friend who said: you do have a lot of cancerien traits) I see it has some merit! Your daughter sounds adorable!!!
I was totally into star signs when I was a young'un. Had to know that star sign of every potential boyf. Of course ended up with the perfect combinations Scorpio/Cancer!! ;)
And BOTH of our kids are Virgos. Don't know if they're tidy so much as particular. They're both very particular about things and have been since the day they were born. And I suspect they always will be, bless their little Virgo hearts! :)
Aww your daughter sounds so precious :-)
My housemate is what I call a "neurotic" Virgo. Our house is organised and reorganised to the nth degree!
Meanwhile, I'm the worst Capricorn ever!
