Blog Love

The lovely Zoey at Good Goog has passed on the Beautiful Blogger Award to me!

Here are the rules:

1. thank the person who nominated me for this award
2. copy the award and place it on my blog
3. link to the person who nominated me for this award
4. share 7 interesting things about myself
5. nominate 7 other beautiful bloggers

Zoey has an amazing blog. Since finding it, I have found myself just heading over there randomly, reading her stuff. Not in a stalker way, but in an 'I've just discovered this gorgeous woman and I love what she has to say' kind of way. Cool? I find I relate to a lot of what Zoey writes - especially when I read her guest post on mamamia.com.au where she spoke about the ways parenting can make you a bit of a hypocrite. I'm there with her on that one! After that, I headed over to Zoey's blog and quickly became addicted. I guess I appreciate her honesty - a quality I always admire. Oh, and, like me, she has a beautiful little daughter!

So. Seven things about me....
  1. I have definite ideas on most things in my life. Unfortunately, my plans are usually bumped off track by, well, life.
  2. I am very shy. I fell into a career that forced me to come out of my shell, but I still feel nervous whenever I attend a meeting, answer the phone, make a presentation, run an interview or meet new people. In short: I have spent most of my work life scared.
  3. When someone at work once told me how confident I seemed, I realised it's all about creating a facade. So I went with that and fooled everyone into thinking I was in complete control. It seemed to work. It still seems to work.
  4. Writing was always part of 'the plan'. When and how was a different matter. I'm excited to finally be starting to do it, at a point in my life where I think I have some worthwhile things to say.
  5. I have a shocking memory. I can read a book or watch a movie over and over again, and still wonder how it ends.
  6. My bad memory is partly the reason for being so organised. If I write everything down, I know I can't forget it.
  7. I am yet to find the perfect handbag. Each one I buy seems to be right, but it never is. Is this the eternally unattainable item for a woman?
And now I shall nominate seven others for this award. I won't nominate Zoey, as she obviously already received it, and I'll also leave out a couple of others whom she awarded. But I won't have any trouble thinking of any!

  1. The always lovely Jodie at Mummy Mayhem, who always has a kind word and is one of the most thoughtful, genuine people I have 'met'.
  2. Gorgeous Tania McCartney. You already know I love her books and book reviews. I also love her personal blog - she is honest, informative and I find her inspirational in so many ways.
  3. Emily at emlykd the strange - ever cheerful and intriguing, and working towards her brilliant career as a midwife. She is awesome!
  4. The beautiful Naomi at Under The Yardarm, whose writing I can always relate to and who always has a kind, thoughtful word.
  5. The Not Drowning Mother is just plain hilarious. She will write about anything, even if it is a little wrong. Actually, especially if it's wrong. And she's a Bloggie award-winner!
  6. I can't go past Lana at The Sharpest Pencil. A witty, laugh-out-loud and insightful writer, and a kind and generous person.
  7. Thea over at Do I Really Wanna Blog? is genuinely kind and funny. Oh, and she is the blog queen, with approximately 500 blogs (give or take a few hundred).
I love youse all!
