13/30 13 Things

Day 13, I arrived home from hiking feeling somewhat sore yet still on a high from the hike.

And as I began unpacking, I laid out the top 13 things a hiker needs...


  1. Water
  2. A small, top quality sleeping bag
  3. A good pack
  4. Energy food
  5. Chocolate (yes, this deserves its own category)
  6. Lightweight, comfortable pants
  7. Windproof tops
  8. A good raincoat
  9. A small, lightweight tent
  10. A torch
  11. Lots of socks
  12. Mattress
  13. Camera
(Note - there are a few other things not shown, which my parents carried, including a first aid kit and dehydrated meals.)

Of course chocolate deserves a category of its own, around here it is considered a food group! I can't wait to read more of your hike.
