You can catch up on the other completed rooms as part of our big renovation here: the bathroom, Abbey's bedroom and the ensuite.
The laundry is in the existing part of the house, part of the room move around we did (we changed every room except one). It used to be the bathroom, and it looked like this:
I know. Very 80s.
So we've transformed it to the laundry (the old laundry has been knocked down for part of our new living room - confused yet?), and while it sounds like a boring room, I have to say it's great having a laundry that's well fit-out. It's full of storage space and clothes hanging space (we don't have, or want, a dryer) and we've tried to utilise the space as well as we can. We're not making any bold style statements here - it's a laundry and it just needs to be clean and practical.
Here it is:
Yes, that's a Hills Hoist out there! Hopefully it
will go one day and a pool will take its place.
Can you believe that hanging clothes rack was the thing we were waiting for, to finally say the room was done? It's from IKEA and was out of stock any time we were nearby! But, we finished the room at last.

Looks fantastic!! We just finished renovating, then we sold the house. Our next house is another project and I am already sweating over it. Am very envious!!!!! xx
OMG!!! I want one!
Just.like.that!
So jealous! That is one awesome laundry... That is my dream laundry... Can I come to visit and worship it?
Wow!! Looks fabulous, Megan! xo
It's a great looking laundry. About the hanging rack...how much weight will it hold? Can you hang heavy things like wet jeans? More than one pair at a time? How is it fixed into the ceiling? I imagine it is similar to those racks used in kitchens to hold pots and pans.
I really love the expanse of bench space you have there.
That is just fabulous.
I might dream of your laundry tonight.
:-)
That looks great Megan! Obviously the door is brand new - from where the window was? Looks great.
I have total envy - not only do I live in rented accommodation in Darwin, which isn't the prettiest of cities, but my main bathroom literally has the laundry tucked behind the door. A washing machine and a sink, that's all! So am very envious indeed.
My God...I am so SO jealous of your laundry!!!
Since Hubby and I moved to Sydney in 1995, we've never had a proper laundry. It's always been a cupboard or a teeny-tiny 'room' (if you could call it that).
Gorgeous!
Loving your new laundry and that Ikea hanger. Oh, I have laundry envy now!
I have a European laundry that opens to my kitchen. People love it, but that's because it's usually not being used when they come over. On other days, my laundry is all over the floor.
So, extra envy on your beautiful big laundry space!
xx
Fabulous! I want one :-)
