When it comes to skin routines, I'm bad. Leave-my-makeup-on-all-night-because-I-just-can't-be-bothered kind of bad - and that's the number one absolute skin sin.
Not to mention being a lovely sight to wake up next to the following morning. Panda eyes? Check. Red, irritated eyes from bits of makeup getting in? Check. Blotchy, dry skin? Check.
Oh yes, it's very glamorous.
To be completely honest, it's only very recently that I even formed a skin 'routine'. What can I say? I was late to the wearing makeup thing, and even later to the taking it off thing. Now, I'm a cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day kinda girl - whether I've worn makeup (rare these days) or not - and I always regret it when I don't stick to the routine. The difference in my skin is incredible, especially seeing as I naturally have very dry skin.
When I was asked to trial Dove's new Foaming Make-up Remover, I was a little wary. I'm into very basic skincare, so if cleansing requires too many steps I consider it too hard. Serums? Different products for eyes? It just won't happen.
This product is pretty cool - it foams up and it left my skin feeling really refreshed and hydrated (a big ask of my skin). It's a one-step product (yay!), able to be used for eye makeup as well as the rest of the face, and it removed it all really easily - no scrubbing my eyes to get remnants of mascara or eyeliner off.
Having said that, it did sting my eyes so I'd recommend being pretty careful with it around that area.
All in all, it's good - and reasonably priced, which is also a big thing for me. I'll keep using it.

As a teen I had chicken pox which I picked at and scratched now I have scars from them. I hate having zits, blackheads & pimples visible. I tend to squeeze them rather than put up with pus on my face. I know its bad but I can't stand them!
Well ok... you convinced me to enter. Here goes *ahem*
Not only do I sometimes sleep in my makeup (yes, still, even though I should be well into the preservation of my youthful skin stage by now), I have EVEN been known to occasionally REAPPLY more over the top the next morning if I leave it too late to get ready to get out of the house.
I see your sleeping-in-makeup and raise you an additional application hours later! *ohgodIcantbelieveIjustadmittedthis*
My skin sin is the same which is why I wear make-up less often now than in my whole adult life. I have found that if I wash it off almost immediately after getting home I'm more reliable about taking it off. I have dreadful skin, unlike you Ms Natural Glow, so I really should take better care of it!
I am hopeless.
Or maybe it is just that my make up loves my face so much it doesn't really want me to take it off each night?
It wants to spend as much time as possible with me. And then it wants more of it to join it in the morning because I am often too lazy/considerate of my make-ups feelings to cleanse my face properly.
Yeah, that's it. I am thoughtful of my make-ups feelings.
I received a massage/facial gift voucher for my birthday. When I got to the facial part, the beautician inspects my dry skin and interrogates me:
"What do you use on your skin? Do you use SOAP????"
"No, no, definitely not soap, I promise!"
"Well, what do you use then?"
"Ummm... Water..."
Shaking of the head and lecture on moisturising follows.
my skin sin is going to bed without cleaning off my makeup properly. as i have a busy schedule i tend to choose waterproof makeup to wear, but cleaning them off at the end of the day seems too much of a hassle & takes too long.
i also don't use any facial cleansing products, only plain water. ok, maybe i use products once in 3 weeks or so, but usually depends on my mood.
I am very particular about my skin! I do natural treatment almost everyday!
I can't believe what I'm reading here!
People who don't remove makeup before sleeping.
People who actually add more makeup over the slept in stuff?
Does your face not get washed in your morning shower at least?
I'm just a soap and water girl, but I do it twice a day, then moisturise and add sunscreen if the sun is out.
I have Roseacea, so the sunscreen is necessary if I don't want to look like a beetroot.
Like Krys, I was totally busted a few weeks ago during an eyebrow wax/tint. I'm a hot water in the shower girl and while I didn't actually admit that to the beautician, she tried to sell me hundreds of dollars worth of microdermabrasion throughout my appointment anyway.
I nodded politely and really hope I never have to face her again :))
Squeezing pimples. It really does leave scars!
I’m a reformed character now but as a teenager I had bad pimples and tried it all. Squeezing spots is still obligatory (can’t stand white heads) but I tried numerous potions to ensure the spots stayed away...toothpaste (because it dries the spot out, doesn’t it?), perfume (that really stings!) and cucumber (possibly the most normal item to wipe on my face but I hated eating it so a big ask to wipe it across my face!). Desperate measures...
Ohh..I missed out just visited today..anymore giveaways?
I don't care that I missed out on your freebies but I will tell you a story that carries a warning. At 14 in the seventies, I used some cheap nasty mascara (all I could afford) then I slept with it on due to not knowing how to remove it. I woke with swollen red itchy eyes, the skin under my lower lashes blistered and cracked open - literally. This became infected raw and pink - stinging and very sore. I had to go to school like this every day for a week. Clearly I was allergic to the brand. I have never not removed eye make up since. Facial wipes, even baby wipes are better than no effort at all at the end of the day!
I've had acne all my life, and haven't always bothered to wash my face every day, although now I'm better about it. I only started using facial cleanser instead of soap a few years ago (I have oily skin so soap doesn't dry it out too much). I've always had the bad habit of squeezing my pimples, to the point where my hands go to my face to search for blemishes out of habit without me even realizing it. And the worst is that I can't even leave the scabs that form afterwards alone, I have to pick those off too. Repeatedly. I've had scabs in the same places for weeks at a time sometimes. Apparently there's even an (unofficial?) name for my bad habit: dermatillomania.
Oh, and I'm guilty of not washing my makeup off at night sometimes as well (when I do wear it, which is rare).
