"Mummy, I want to wear my party dress today."
And in my mind, I think through our sunny Sunday plans - a walk/trike ride, a play at the park, coming back home to play some more. A party dress is so unsuitable.
"Okay," I say. "You can wear your party dress."
And she's ecstatic about that answer.
This sums up my little girl perfectly - she loves beautiful clothes, accessories, and pink (much to my horror). She also loves getting dirty, being loud, adventuring and being active.
I love it.

What a divine little girl you have there. I love how kids have no concept of being overdressed for the occasion.
SO ridiculously cute. Tell Abbey I used to like wearing my party dresses ALL the time....except I didn't actually like getting dirty at all. I like that she is equal parts of both - bodes well for a balanced young woman! xxx
Abbey has beautiful curls, my girls love their party dresses with gumboots and puddles... it must be a girl thing :)
Welcome to the la d of filthy frills.
My girls are always in fancy dresses, but they really do wash just as well as the other stuff and they grow out of them so quick, I decided there was no use having bags of perfect but too small dresses, so now they wear it all.
Gym creche teacher asked the other day if we had a fancy party to attend as the girls were so dressed up, but it was just another same ol day.
Oh she's cute! When did they grow up, our girls? xx
Good on you both.
We should all wear our 'party dresses' more often.
:-)
Oh bless! I was exactly the same at her age. I don't know how my mother put up with it. Thank goodness for napisan. She looks adorable.
How sweet...I love it that she can rough and tumble in her party dress. The truth is, they grow out of those dresses so quickly, and you will wish you saw her wearing it more often. Good for you, mom!

I just love your little girls love of pink. But dont worry, she may grow out of it tho. Then again, I have pink and brown hair now and I'm 19 years old. Either way, just make sure she is tasteful with pink. sometimes it can be overbaring if ur not careful. :-) Good luck with your little pink princess! dreamchasersdiaries.blogspot.com dreamchaserbeforethebook.blogspot.com
sweet pics.
Love this, Megan.
And love that you let her wear her frills and frocks.
I never let Olivia - always saving everything for best - it took me a Lexie to realise its just totally Ok...
She will grow out of it so fast, may as well let her enjoy it!
I sent my daughter to school in a tutu today. With a dress on top. And her favourite shirt on top of that. She looked like a lovely, homeless lady.
She is the coolest little girl ever! xxx
Loving the dress. Reminds me of my childhood - I grew up surrounded by a lot of purple! Miss A is so cute.
