My daily face routine is four steps that take about one minute all up: cleanser, moisturiser, BB cream (used to be foundation, but I'm converted as you'll see in the video below!), and any other makeup (concealer, eyeliner and eyeshadow are for days I have extra motivation). Done.
In all honesty, I wouldn't use anything if it wasn't for the fact that my skin is as dry as a reptile's and needs a lot of help!
Part of the simplicity is also about using accessible products - I won't make a special trip for skin care products, so finding things I like on the supermarket shelves is ideal. Oh, and inexpensive is another must - I need to use bucketloads of moisturiser, but I don't want to take out a second mortgage to do it. I did dabble with more expensive products in my higher-earning days, but soon stopped when I realised they're not actually better than the supermarket brands.
To me, it's about having a few products that work really well, keeping it simple, and getting out of the bathroom.
And now, a vlog. Yes, I braved a video post even though I hate being on video. And please don't mind my daughter still being in her pyjamas, hair everywhere, and throwing a little tanty... (Oh, and my skin care routine is quick - but videoing with a young child on my lap is not. Although she is rather entertaining.)
Here are the products I use:
Simple moisturiser and cleanser
Garnier BB cream (technical name: Miracle Skin Perfector)
Garnier roll-on anti-dark circles
Body Shop honey and oat scrub
I've also been given samples of a few other Garnier products and they seem really good, so if you don't have time to scour the shelves they'd be a good place to start.
Win one of 10 Garnier BB miracle skin perfector packs!

I cleanse with honey and use sorbolene cream. That is it. BB cream sounds like a great option for the summer with SPF factor. Did you see my post today? Funny! x
My favourite product at the moment is Aveeno daily moisturising lotion. I don't really use make up because I've never found a foundation/powder/anything that I can use without looking like an idiot. However this new 'miracle skin perfector' sounds pretty easy to use.
Awwww, so cute!
My BEST lazy skin tip: Bathing my son in organic, cold-pressed olive oil. Have been doing it since he was born (he's 7 months now) and his skin is beautiful.
LOVE your vlog!
Best tip : hand cream in the car coffee holder and use it at every red light!
My comment got eaten!!! take 2
As you know, I don't like to fuss, and nor to I have time to!
My miracle product? Bronzinc.
Yup, that old Bronze zinc from a time gone by! Applied thinly it is a great foundation and sunscreen whilst giving you a sunkissed glow! Applied too thick and people will think you are part oompa loompa. you have been warned.
I think I may love this Garnier product though....sounds amazing!
I keep a facial scrub in the shower and use it there. I'm with you - mirror time is minimal. The perfectionist in me does not need any encouragement to nitpick.
Not so much skincare, but my beauty seclet is lip gloss.
A cheap Face of Australia from Big Dub. I have one in the car, one in Magoo's bag and one in my purse. My theory is that the gloss on my lips detracts from everything else going on.
:-)
I am so naughty and lazy and use nothing. I don't even wash my make up off - so I do need a miracle as I am not getting any younger!!!!
Oh Geezo, I loved watching this video. Your wee lassie is gorgeous.
My routine is easy and quick.
Wash face in shower, with vegetable oil based neutral soap. Apply moisturiser, whatever's on special. Apply sunscreen.
@Chantel; you need to wash off your makeup, skin needs to breathe. You'll thank me when you're sixty.
Best lazy skin tip? Sleep. That's it. Makes you feel and look better. And it's super lazy. But if your kids won't let you, then load on the concealer with a trowel to cover the dark circles.
I use a cheap Olay cream as a cleanser and a moisturiser. It really does work just as well as the fancy stuff. I still use good night cream as I am now in that age bracket where wrinkles are imminent!
In my opinion tinted moisturiser is the time poor woman's best friend! Not only does it give you a kick of colour, but works to nourish your skin at the same time. I'm obsessed with my Body Shop branded one, because its silky smooth and doesnt leave you feeling caked in the face with cream!
Best tip I have is a face scrub in the shower. I use a supermarket one. Also, SPF 30 moisturiser every day.
My only other tip is to wash your face morning and night. I always, always do, no matter what.
I love the hand cram in the cup holder tip! I'm going to do that!
My best lazy day skin care is cleansing at night, to then wake up in the morning, pop some of the Garnier rollerball WONDER concealer/brightener under my eyes.. then moisturiser of some sort. :)
Little Miss A is so funny. Boy is she energetic!!! :)
The BB cream sounds fab! I don't use foundation every day, just a little face powder, so that sounds great!
My fave products are: Clinique for face powder, Revlon for lipsticks, mascaras, foundation and blushes, MAC for eye shadows.
My tip for skin care? Don't bother toning. Just cleanse and moisturise twice a day. If you're really tired at the end of the day and can't be bothered, use a makeup remover wipe then moisturise. Done! (Oh, and cold tea bags on the eyes can help get rid of the baggies!) Mine - not yours!

I have used vaseline intensive care for over twenty years, and haven't worn makeup since I got married five years ago... but I think I'm getting to "that"age, where some extra help would be appreciated!
You are brave to vlog!
I hear everything you say in this post! A friend told me about aqueous cream. It's $3.95 available in every chemist and comes in a huge tub. Perfect for dry skin. You can use it for Cleansing AND moisturising. It's the base for every cleaners and moisturiser. And no chemicals. Perfect for excema and sensitive skin.
And your little girl is adorable. And about as busy as my two year old too! (Nice to know that girls are as into stuff as boys!)
I hardly ever wear make up, but do cleanse and moisturise every night. Essential: and use eye cream!) And I use Oil of Olay products because I can't be bothered shopping anywhere other than Coles!!
xx
I use rosehip oil. It's great when I'm feeling lazy instead of a night cream. But if my skin is extra dry I put it under the night cream. It's great, natural & cheap!
vaseline moisturising cream - simple and effective
lazy tip - wear sunscreen under your moisturiser
Love some of these tips - not only for other lazy women (like me!) but also those on a budget.
I always cleanse and moisturise every morning and night but don't buy expensive products or scrubs.
My lazy tip - use a face washer.
Every night when I wash my makeup off, I use a fine face washer to exfoliate with whatever face wash I am using at the time - cuts down on the number of bottles sitting in the bathroom too!
My lazy tip would be to invest in a dry shampoo, perfect for when you don't have the time or energy (most days for me! :) )
