On my days off this week, I've enjoyed just being home.
We took a drive up the mountain - always a good reminder of what's right on our doorstep. This forest is just a short walk from our home, and is the source of much peace in our lives.
Abbey played around with more photography, and I discovered this beautiful self-portrait on my iPhone.
And when one finds herself with a craving for bakery food, but knows said food will make her feel rotten, one bakes her own.
(I'll share this vegetable pastie recipe soon, because they are delicious!)
What have you been up to?

What a beautiful spot you live in. I live near the beach so that's my serene place. I love finding pics on my phone that my girls have taken. It's wonderful to see the world through their eyes (and in their eyes, gorgeous pic of your daughter!). The pasties look yum too! We're having a quiet, lazy day with the family today xx
We do live somewhere pretty special don't we.
I run through the forest, it never ceases to amaze me.
This week on my day off I went to the cinema. Hubby and I were the only two there. Another bonus of where we live!
So when can I come and visit this beautiful place :)
I love where we live too, we are very lucky that with a one minute walk we are into bushland with a gorgeous river running through it. when I need a break just a five minute walk through there is my grounding place.
xx
You were right - this post is crap, the photos crap and the pasties definitely look crap!! Love you xx
Yes, it can be so easy to forget what we have right in front of us.
Sounds like a perfect way to spend days off.
:-)
You are so lucky to be living in a very beautiful place. I love my country (fiercely), despite all the frustrations that go with living in the Third World. But I see a post like this and it makes me momentarily dream that I'm living elsewhere.
A beautiful slice of nature you have right on your doorstep!
wow the plc is rejuvinating!!!!
I would love to live that close to so many trees.
I'll be checking often for that pasty recipe, they look so yummy!

I love the first photo, amazing depth. I too am escaping to the forest to do a little mountain biking on my days off.
