A couple of weeks ago, we headed to the city for a special blogging event - a Teddy Bear's picnic to watch the new Winnie-the-Pooh DVD.
This is a movie Abbey has been excited about for months, one we had shown her the previews to and were promising to take her to the movies for the first time to see it. When we found out it was heading straight to DVD, we were disappointed... until this invitation came along.
Abbey ran around the room cuddling all the soft toys - Pooh Bear, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore - before settling herself and her favourite teddy bear, Frosty, into beanbags. They each held balloons and watched, intrigued, as the search for Eeyore's tail began on the screen.
She's watched this movie again since - and again and again - and absolutely loves it. As do I - there's nothing about Winnie-the-Pooh that a parent needs to worry about. No violence, no special jokes for parents that make the kids feel like they're being talked over - just good, old-fashioned movie fun. It's a short movie too, at only an hour (which might be one of the reasons it went straight to DVD), which is perfect for a young child's attention span and screen time.
Oh, and at the end of a bloggers' event there's one more thing to look forward to... a goody bag. This was Abbey's first and she was very excited!

Oh, my three young daughters would love this! Thanks for the opportunity!
Immy has been asking about this movie since we saw a poster for it at the cinema back in February! I haven't quite worked out how to tell her that it is not going to be on at the movies! This would go a long way towards making up for the disappointment :)
Oh yes please, we couldn't make it to this one but would love to have the vid.
I'm not sure who would love this more, Sophie or I! xx
I don't have any kids, but I promise if I win it will be going to a good home!
My little girl is just old enough to want to watch movies and this would be perfect!
My daughter is SO in love with "Pooh Pooh" lately! She would absolutely love this :)
My little Lucy LOVES "Pooh Bear" we have to sing the theme song every night before she'll fall asleep...at least 3 times. Is it just me, or are the older pooh movies IMPOSSIBLE to find on DVD? I've picked up a few used ones, but no luck finding new. We where very excited to find out this movie was coming out!
I loved pooh bear ever since I could read it to myself. I'm glad my girls have great movies to entice them to the dark side.
