When a child uses a DSLR

After seeing me take photos all weekend, Abbey decided it looked like fun.

This is the result of a three-year-old taking control of a digital SLR camera...

I loved seeing the world from her angle. (And I'm also very glad we're in the digital age - processing all the photos she took would have cost me a fortune back in the film days!)

I told Steve I should buy a new camera and give her my old one. He didn't like that idea.

I think that sounds like a great Idea, you update and she gets the old one :) You both win... if only husbabds saw it that way.

I love this post, Megan. I should hand over my camera to the kids more too! :)

My 3yo was pretending to take photos of me with a 'camera' he made from Lego yesterday - made me think about getting the kids a small shock proof one for them to play with. I would love to see the world from their point of view, but I don't trust him with mine at the moment (I'm sure he would break it in about 2 seconds).

These photos are lovely - and yes, very glad we're in the digital age - I didn't get to touch my Dad's camera until I was 10 and then didn't touch it again until I was in my mid-teens and looking to get my own. Very different in this day and age.

My boys love seeing themselves on camera, but this is a whole new angle. Love seeing the world through her eyes. Don't know if I would be so game to let my 3 have a go at our DSLR. It could get really ugly.
