about

When I met my now-husband, Steve, it was our talk of travel that connected us. On our first date we talked for hours about the places we'd been and the places we dreamed of visiting. We knew we'd see the world together.

Then one day, years later, I agreed to go hiking with him - and so it was that I found myself completely out of my comfort zone on Tasmania's Overland Track in 2005.

From that first step along the track I was hooked. To hiking, camping, and the thrill of the adventure.

Now, we're a family of four. We get away whenever we can with our girls, four-year-old Abbey (a daredevil who has been camping since she was six weeks old and climbed her first mountain at age three) and baby Iris (whose first camping trip was at four weeks).

This is the stuff that makes me happy. Getting back to basics, pushing my limits and showing my girls what the world has to offer. It's good for the soul.
