Renovations: Days Thirty-Four And Thirty-Five

A tour of the latest developments:

Welcome!

The entranceway. Oh, and anyone good with decorating - any suggestions for what to do with this big entranceway? I'm thinking lots of photos on the walls, but should I have a piece of furniture here?? (The hallway continues a little behind the photo, and turns to the right of this photo into the lounge room.)

Up until last week, this was Abbey's room (hence the mobile still hanging from the light!). It is now partly a built-in wardrobe for the main bedroom, and the rest is my our office.

Be still my beating heart; my our very own office. I'm so in love with this room that Steve's concerned he'll never see me again after it's finished. My Our desk will be under that window, looking out over the trees. Every single wall will be covered from floor to ceiling with bookshelves (the builders looked at me strangely when I said that, until I pointed out that the couriers they have got to know, who drop by every single weekday, are delivering books...). And that corner to your left, just out of the photo? I think a nice comfy reading chair would go nicely there. Yep, Steve's probably right to be worried...

  2. That's so funny, i wonder what the builder thought the couriers were doing?? My couriers are so nice, always forced to listen to me squeal "oh i've been waiting on this bolt of Babushka fabric from Japan" while i sign.
Loving the renovation. As someone who can not hang or keep a picture straight, i'd be tempted to just do single big photos of each member of the family, perhaps at the same age?? Less is more, or do you like dusting?? A slim console is always handy by the door for bunches of flowers your husband bestows or you know, keys!! Love Posie

  3. That is looking so great!! Your office sounds like heaven.

I'm not all that good with decorating (no, really ;-) ) but maybe a hall table thingy would look really nice - or one of those ones with a mirror and hat hooks?? Hope you know what I'm trying to say.

  6. Hahaha so funny, it was the same here. I positioned every piece of furniture so it looked out on the best aspects of 'green' (we have the same green, you and I.... you might be alarmed how close we are, given we don't know each other). And the studio behind the garage that was called 'storage' on the plan? Pah. That's MY (oops, our) office. And all I want in there is a desk and a comfy reading chair. Snap!

    Looking great, Megan.
