The Whole Shebang

As I've been blogging through our renovation, I've realised I haven't shown you the full plans we have for our house.

You see, the extension we're currently having done is just the beginning. It's the easy bit, really, because we can still live here and avoid most of the mess. The worst - and most exciting - is yet to come.

Here are some photos of what our house is like right now. Please excuse the mess - we're currently living in a smaller version of our house (with some rooms blocked off) with more stuff (as we're buying and storing furniture for the new section)!

On the left is our 'walk-in-robe', AKA a corridor through to our shoebox ensuite (right).
The walk-in-robe is going, and this whole space will be a bigger, better ensuite.

And instead, we'll have a built-in-robe - the beginning of which is above -
that will take up an entire wall in our bedroom.

The current main bathroom (above) is becoming the laundry.
(Hence, the new bathroom in the extension.)

We're creating a second living area and a big open-plan kitchen/dining/living space -
by knocking down this entire wall.

This is the laundry, and our current back door.
Our new back door is one of the things we're most excited out - in the previous photo, after we knock down the wall, we'll be having six panels of bi-fold doors opening out onto this...

Our back decking that will be all covered in, and most of that back wall will be glass.

Yes, we're entirely crazy undertaking all this. But it'll be so good when it's done! Can you see why I'm so excited about it all? And so stressed out?!

  5. There is so much that I admire about this plan but the main two are, vision and perseverance.

To be able to see how the structure of your home could be rejigged to create a more livable space is not something everyone could do.

To be able to action that and then live through the discomfort of the gradual changes, that takes real fortitude.

I tip my hat to your gorgeous girl and wish you Godspeed in reaching the finish line!
