Word Of The Week
Abbey's Words of the Week this week are...
Abbey do it
Pronunciation: Addey doo dit
Ah, the independence of a two-year-old. Such a lovely thing to see in so many ways, but sometimes? When you're in a huge rush? Or it involves a dirty nappy? Not so fun.
Everything - from getting in the car to changing her nappy and everything in between - has to be done by Abbey these days. And if we try and help? Watch out! She'll get all frustrated, push us away, and wait to make sure we've stopped trying to help before she continues. This will come with desperate cries of "Addey doo dit, Addey dooo dit, Addey dooooo dit!"
Even her swimming teacher, when trying to show Abbey how to swim with a kickboard, was subject to this cry for independence.
I have a feeling we'll be hearing this phrase, or incarnations of it, for a long, long, long time to come.
Megan
I hear you, Megan! My Little Lion is ROARING the same. About everything. And I mean every-damned-little-tiny-thing. So together with every other mother of a 2-year-old, we'll just keep running late!
ReplyDeletePatience to us!

I love her! And you just know that I know what you mean. :) I love this independent streak in our little people just as much as it drives me slightly batty....and yes, the dirty nappy situation is not the most fun one in the world!
