10/30 Childhood memory

Day 10 of June's photo a day.

A childhood memory.

One of my favourite games as a child was scribbling over my books - not a good thing to do, I know, and my parents weren't very happy with this game. It was something reserved for my favourite stories - and as far as I was concerned they didn't come any better than Noddy. I'd close my eyes and scrawl, pretending I was the author of this wonderful book, that I had dreamed up this story and it was my name on the cover.

The best part of having books with these little scribbles all over them is having that memory. And now, seeing Abbey 'write', I realise that she does exactly the same scrawls. Cute!

  1. Gasp! You scribbled over your books?!

Actually, I've found a few books where there are ticks at the end of every sentence. I loved pretending I was a teacher as a child. ;)

I just love that you always had your dream to be an author..you knew from so early on!

    Go you.

  3. Poor Noddy has been outed over the years huh? Only one of my children scribbles in books. Not cool! He is also the same child who rips them :-( Thanks for sharing your childhood memory - I am enjoying your photography challenge immensely! x

  4. Oh my goodness, me too! Just so I could pretend that I had written them. You just triggered that memory for me, I had completely forgotten :)

  5. Oh, I love Noddy. We have just started reading them here and my five year old LOVES them. When I ask him what he wants to read every night, it's Noddy.

My boys write on their books. But not because I let them ;) xx
