Book Review: Abbey and the Cheeky Monkey

You may know how much I love Mooo.com.au (I posted about them here). Their range of personalised goodies - from t-shirts to invitations to name labels to bags - are gorgeous. And now they have books (I know you know how much I love books)!

As a kid, I remember having a couple of personalised books - do you remember them? The ones where your name is inserted as the main character. This is made extra special if you have a name that isn't really common; it's a bit of a thrill for a child to hear their name as the person having all the adventures.

Do you know I was the only Megan in my entire primary school? I used to think it was such a strange name, that my parents were weird for having made it up or something... so having personalised books was very exciting for me.

Anyway...

It's quite exciting to have Abbey's first personalised book right here!

The lovely people at Mooo sent a copy through for Abbey - and she's thrilled. She's loving her gorgeous book.

In this story, Abbey is ready to start celebrating her birthday. But Cheeky Monkey has other ideas - he wants to make sure each of the right guests is invited.

A counting book - it goes through each of the invitees, from "1 splendiferous party giraffe on roller skates" to "2 bouncy eggs shaking maracas" and so on - each character is described with funny, imaginative language.

This is a gorgeous story that will make your child feel part of the party action, and give them lots of giggles along the way!

Head over to Mooo to check out their personalised books - just click right here.

  1. It looks like a really sweet book, lucky Abbey. Both my children have personalised books and they are still so surprised and thrilled when they hear themslves and their friends mentioned.
